As the prevalence of type 2 diabetes and obesity continues to climb globally, those affected will almost certainly face complex health challenges. As a result, healthcare systems will need to adapt to provide better care for more patients than ever before. For these patients, new evidence presented at the EASD Congress strengthens the case for a more integrated, holistic approach to care, with a focus on ‘cardio-renal-metabolic’ protection to reduce hospitalisation and death while providing patients a more seamless care experience.
